Alpine Valley on the Moon

Alpine valley area of moon (near north polar)

Crater at upper left on terminator is Plato (104 km x 104 km). Craters lower middle are Aristotleles and Eudoxus. Valles Alpes is the linear scar below Plato with 3600m Mons Blanc just below that. Crater Cassini (60 km x 60 km)is at end of mountain chain (Montes Alpes) and Aristillus and Archimedes are at bottom left. Mare Imbrium is in lower left. Note rills below Plato and details of craters.

Images taken with TEC-140 using 5x Televue Powermate Telescope mounted on Losmandy G11 mount. Camera used was a Canon EOS20D used at prime focus with Powermate and Diagonal.
