Copernicus and North on the Moon

Area of moon from Copernicus north to Plato The Mare in the middle of this image (above Copernicus) is Mare Imbrium. Plato is the crater in the North with the dark floor. Below Plato are the craters Archimedes (large with flat floor) and Eratosthenes (just to the right of Plato). Several other craters are also obvious. Images taken with TEC-140 using 4x Televue Powermate. Telescope mounted on Losmandy G11 mount. Camera used was a Canon EOS20D used at prime focus with Powermate and focal extender. Three 1/200 sec exposures aligned and stacked with Photoshop CS |
