Galaxy M49 in Virgo
A very bright elliptical galaxy that is part of the Virgo cluster. This is one of the largest and most massive elliptical systems known. This galaxy is about 42 million light years away and has a diameter of around 50,000 light years.
Images taken with TEC-140 Telescope mounted on Losmandy G11 mount. Camera used was a Hutech modified Canon EOS30D used at prime focus.
