Galaxy M61 in Virgo

A large barred spiral galaxy that is also part of the Virgo cluster. This is one of the larger galaxies in the Virgl cluster. This galaxy is about 42 million light years away and has a diameter of around 60,000 light years. If you put your mouse over this image, you will also see this area of the Virgo cluster.

Images taken with TEC-140 Telescope mounted on Losmandy G11 mount. Camera used was a Huetech modified Canon EOS30D used at prime focus.
